System Engineer (Benchmark Electronics BV, Almelo)

Architect mains & safety cabinets in lithographic industries (Customer: ASML). Architect for Mains Distribution Remote Cabinet for 450-mm wafer system. Designs under NDA.

Now: Architect for Power Distribution Unit for source of NXE system. Responsible for design decomposition, requirements traceability and design compliance to NFPA, UL, SEMI-S22. Teamlead for electrical and mechanical designers.

Contributor to the Systems Engineering Process within Benchmark Electronics.

2006 – now

Senior Electronics Engineer (Benchmark Electronics BV, Almelo)

Developer of technical solutions for other companies. Developed  measurement system for lithographic industries (ASML, Yieldstar). Senior Electronics Engineer for Airbus Flight Attendant Panel (Airbus, A380/A350 programs) and VHDL of Loudspeaker Indicator Box (Airbus, A330-200F program). Focus at requirement based engineering (using Doors), qualification procedures such as HALT/HASS, test execution and avionics documentation (PHAC, FMEA, HRD, QTP, etc). AS9100 trainings (including AS9102 and AS9134) attended. Certified AS9100 Rev.C Internal Auditor.

Now: consultant for new Airbus-related projects. Risk asessments; providing training in avionics-specific standards (DO-160, ABD0100, DO-178, …)

 

2002–2006

Teacher Mathematics / Informatics (Greijdanus College, Zwolle)

Teacher in secundary education. Primarily mathematics but also on Information Science Technology. Several levels (from basic theoretical up to preparation scientific school). Classes 1 to 3 (Age: 12 to 16 years old.) Active contributor to educational changes. Mentor and ad interim management.

 

2002–2003

 

Software design engineer (Ericsson, Enschede)

Software design engineer and teamleider on Operrations & Maintenance software of W-CDMA radio basestation. Used UML/OOD tooling (Rose Real Time), C++ coding and Q-ranking tools like PureCoverage and Flexelint. Responsible for architecture, implementation,  Q-ranking and planning/tracking. Line activities for process improvements (e.g. automatic generation of documentation).

 


2000–2002

Software teamleader Mobile Simulator (Ericsson, Lund / Dublin)

Mobile Simulator: development of specific measurement device to prove the performance of W-CDMA basestations. Object leader of initial taskforce (4 months in Sweden). After that, object leader of 2 groups: PC applications (5 pers) and Integration&Verification (5 pers). Responsible for coordination of these groups and also joined development of PC applications with Borland C++ Pro. For Integration&Verification mostly active in optimisation of processes by implementing new logging and debugging tools. Performed coordination of international teams.

1998 – 2000

New Technology Engineer (Ericsson, Enschede)

Development Cordless Multimedia Products. Projectleader and system engineering on Bluetooth (voice) performance. Delivered contribution to Bluetooth standard by joining Special Interest Group (SIG). After that, early prototyping and performance evaluation done (hardware/software). Architecture of TCS component in Bluetooth software stack. Feasiblity study done for screenphone. Improvements implemented (incl. patent ownership) on range, voice quality and interference.

1995 – 1998

Digital ASIC Designer (Fluke Industrial, Almelo)

Integral digital ASIC/IC development: definition of architecture, implementation with VHDL of behavioral model and real implementation (Garfield: 25Mhz acquisition IC; Chameleon: low power color LCD controller; Spider: fast CPU and Garfield/Chameleon functionality), synthesis, joined foundry selection and interfacing, test&evaluation, development of driver software to it. Unix environment owner. Design entry in graphical tool (EASE), simulation with tools from Viewlogic, synthesis with Synopsys; sign-off simulation with Verilog tooling.

Line activity by providing courses on personal effectivity. Subjects like: Problem Solving, Meeting Techniques, Passing/receiving information.
